School is upon us again. Brevard County schools began August 10th, 2 weeks earlier than the rest of the state of Florida. Sarah enjoyed her 1st week (homework free of course.) Her teacher, Mrs. Stubbs-Ellis, wasted no time putting them to work. Her homework isn't hard, she is just exhausted from an hour bus ride home, and it is just hard to motivate her to do anything once she gets home. Who can blame her? But once she gets going, she really knows her stuff!
Sarah was also VERY excited to have been selected by her music teacher, Mr. Yoh, to play the bass drum yesterday. He said that he was going to pick the quietest student and the one he felt he could trust the most to play the most important instrument of the band. He told her that without the bass drum, the entire band would not be able to keep in rhythm therefore making for a poor performance. Music has got to be her absolute favorite class if you ask me!

Heather of course is always elated to go to school. Ian, Ricky, and Josiah are her best friends. She really works hard and plays hard, and comes home exhausted. It is actually easier keeping her home all day than trying to wrangle an exhausted after-school Heather. However, whatever gray hairs she gives me with her after school antics is worth the joy on her face as she boards the school bus each morning!
